Annual Teddy Bear Drive
Thanks to all for participating in our Teddy Bear Drive!
The PTA sponsors our Annual Teddy Bear Drive. If you'd like to participate, please bring your new and unwrapped teddy bears to school during the week of December 3rd through 7th, and we'll celebrate with a special Assembly on December 7th at 11 a.m. See our Teddy Bear Page for more information about this program which benefits children ill in hospital.
Special Appeal
Lincolns for the Library and A.S.B Firestorm 2007 Service Project (Kids Helping Kids)
We continue to collect "Lincolns" for the library in partnership with A.S.B. We would like to collect as much money as possible to donate to the families affected by the recent fires. A portion of the money collected will be used to purchase books for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Grades K, 1, and 2 already receive free RIF books three times a year. The remainder of the money will be donated to charity through the A.S.B. service project to the Firestorm 2007 relief fund.
Please have your children bring their donations to the library. Children may bring donations at any time, not only on their library day! We will gladly accept "Lincolns," "Washingtons," or any other monetary amount that you can give. If you wish to write a check, please make it payable to Benchley-Weinberger.
Thank you for your generosity.
Celebrate Reading
The Art of Reading celebrates children's book art and the illustrators of children's books. Commemorating the fortieth anniversary of Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), it includes interviews with 40 top illustrators who discuss their favorite childhood books.
