Kick-off Assembly!
November 2nd at 7:45 a.m.
We're ready to read! Thanks to all who joined us at the Kick-off Assembly. We have pictures of this year's launch of our reading marathon. It was great to see so many of our favorite book characters. We have links to the program guidelines and .pdf versions of the reading logs (K-3 and 4-5) which we'll use to record our titles and pages. Students: Turn in your reading logs to earn prizes from our treasure chest and watch your rocket zoom through the solar system on our school-wide chart, "Let Reading Take You Out of This World."

Special Appeal
Lincolns for the Library and A.S.B Firestorm 2007 Service Project (Kids Helping Kids)
October 30th
The library and A.S.B. have combined their efforts to collect "Lincolns" for the library starting this week. We would like to collect as much money as possible to donate to the families affected by the recent fires. A portion of the money collected will be used to purchase books for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Grades K, 1 and 2 already receive free RIF books three times a year. The remainder of the money will be donated to charity through the A.S.B. service project to the Firestorm 2007 relief fund.
Please have your child bring his/her donations to the library. Children may bring donations at any time, not only on their library day! We will gladly accept "Lincolns," "Washingtons," or any other monetary amount that you can donate. If you wish to write a check, please make it payable to Benchley-Weinberger.
Thank you for your generosity.
