We've just received some much-requested Fancy Nancy titles of the popular series from the author/illustrator duo of Jane O'Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser. We have two new copies of each of the following to add to our series collection:

Our program ends the week of May 12th! Be sure to keep reading and handing in your reading sheets. Check your progress on our library "Solar System" wall-chart: we're all zooming toward the sun and our gold medals! Currently, 190-plus students are Gold Medal readers and we've got over 5,000 reading sheets. You go!
EarthFair 2008
Celebrate Earth Day on April 20th in Balboa Park, from 10am to 5pm. EarthFair features 200 environmental exhbitors, a Kids' Activity Area, entertainment, and food. Free Admission. There's a Children's Earth Parade and an Alternative Fuel Vehicle Parade and Show. Learn more at San Diego EarthWorks.
Panda Power Pride! Time's Running Out
Applications deadline: April 11, this Friday. Run with your school team at the Annual 1-Mile Race for Literacy in Balboa Park on Saturday, May 3rd. Good exercise and a free t-shirt with BW on it. Finisher's Medal for all kids, a free book and admission to the post-race party. Check out the U-T "Race for Literacy" website. Entry forms are available in the school office.
