Our Books & Beyond Gold Medal ceremony is Friday, June 6th!
You're cordially invited to attend as we celebrate reaching our school goal of reading 1,500,000 pages--and beyond. We'll award our "Gold Medal" winners and then enjoy an hour-long recess and a BBQ lunch.
And we'll need lots of help! Join us and help setting-up or supervising games, or with serving or cleaning up the BBQ. If you can volunteer some time, please let us know by Tuesday, June 3rd.
Literature Comes to Life
Special Assembly: May 29th
In preparation for our special "Literature Comes to Life" assembly on May 29th, Mrs. Knight's been reading some of the titles we'll explore. Grades K-2 are enjoying Three Billy Goats Gruff, by Paul Galdone and The Wolf's Chicken Stew, by Keiko Kasza. Grades 3-5 are learning a lesson about honesty in The Empty Pot, by Demi, and a new twist on the familiar fairy tale with Prince Cinders, by Babette Cole.
Books & Beyond: Ends week of May 19th!
Our Books & Beyond reading program ends on your child's library day during the week of May 19th. It's time to submit your final reading sheets!
Remember: No more than four (4) reading sheets will be accepted during the last week of the program.
Just In: Fancy Nancy titles!
We've just received much-requested Fancy Nancy titles of the popular series from the author/illustrator duo of Jane O'Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser.
We have two new copies of each of the following to add to our series collection:
Fancy Nancy at the Museum; Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy; and Fancy Nancy, Bonjour, Butterfly
