"We're ready to read our RIF books!"
R.I.F. is sponsored by the Federal government and our PTA to foster the love of reading. Twice a year, all students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades receive a free book that they personally select. These books are gifts for the students to keep.
Since its founding in 1966, R.I.F. has promoted literacy for children and families, focusing especially on reaching underserved children from birth to age 8.
Local R.I.F. programs foster literacy through reading motivation, family and community involvement, and the excitement of choosing free books to keep.
R.I.F. is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Education, corporations, foundations, community organizations, and thousands of individuals. Visit the R.I.F. website for more information, including printable parent guides, booklists, and ideas for motiviating kids to read.
